Noun Project: garden icons

After an industrious start to 2013 I finished various craft projects. My new pens arrived and I finally chose a notebook from my stash to use for my next side project. Icon design!

The icons I’ve been making are for The Noun Project. I feel really excited about the project because people all over the world, who speak different languages, are contributing to a new global language. The language is made from icons and the challenge is to make each one as simple as possible by only using essential design components.

The theme for my first icon set is the garden – inspired by my desire for the weather to warm up so I can get outside, sow some seeds, harvest some home grown veggies and potter around the garden.

I did the majority of the sketches on train. They are quite clumsy, but the process was more to help me decide which icons to add to the set.
