Do you remember Jazzies? Growing up, they were one of my favourite pick ‘n’ mix sweets but they are hard to find in shops now. Perhaps I’m starting to show my age. An Instagram friend recently sent me some which sparked the idea of making them myself. I could eat Jazzies all the time!!
Ingredients
- 200g good quality white chocolate
- 1 pot of sprinkles
- 1/2 tsp vanilla paste
Makes approx 35 thin, 3cm Jazzies.
Homemade Jazzies recipe
I call this a recipe in the loosest possible sense — they are just melted chocolate with sprinkles on top 🙂
1. Chop and melt the chocolate
Chop the chocolate into chunks and place it in a heat proof bowl. Rest the bowl on top of a saucepan of simmering water until the chocolate has fully melted. Lumps of unmelted chocolate are the enemy.
2. Spread the chocolate in circles and cover with sprinkles
Spread the chocolate in circles on baking parchment — use half to a whole teaspoon depending on how thick you like them.
Cover the melted chocolate with sprinkles straight away and press down any pointy bits to make a smoother shape.
3. Leave to set
Leave your Jazzies to set flat. If you want to speed things up you can put them in the fridge. I guarantee you’ll have sprinkles stuck to your feet and kitchen floor and they’ll keep appearing for days afterwards.
Store in an airtight container in a cool place and enjoy!
I used to love these! Will have to give this a try! looks lovely!
I guarantee they won’t last very long 🙂
