Around Stockholm, July 2024

July was a month of humidity, socks with sandals, the first kantareller, ghost town suburbs, sommarstängt notes, cheap vegetables in supermarkets, baking hot public transport, pelargoniums, cool rain, stacks of pastel coloured ice cream in cones, and bursts of green all over the city.

We felt slightly guilty walking past this energetic group of people. While they were building up a sweat, we were on our way to buy sugary buns for breakfast, to fuel our walk into the city for errands.

This ticket stand at Skeppsbron was accidentally Wes Anderson.

Summer always means a wave of socks with sandals!

The city emptied pretty quickly as people started their Summer breaks. It can be a little eerie at times because you get used to the hustle and bustle of certain areas during the rest of the year.

This dog was happily sniffing all the smells after the rain. Mostly food and pee, in case you are wondering.

Sommarstängt means "Summer closed". It catches us out every year because the opening times on Google Maps often don't reflect the reality of Summer.

We bought some of the tastiest bread ever from Fabrique. Scott picked an apricot and hazelnut loaf, and I honestly could have demolished the whole thing in one sitting!

That's all for July!
