Rainbow jumper for Pip

Making things for little people is always a nice job. We welcomed our niece Pip into the world back in June and with Autumn coming, I thought a jumper would be the perfect gift.

Months have passed since I cast on. Ironically this is one of my smallest knitting projects, yet its taken me the longest to finish. After injuring my arm I wasn't able to knit for several weeks but this month I was able to get some serious knitting done and I've finally cast off! Happy happy joy joy!

My Flax Pullover has been a faithful companion. I normally wear it for outdoor activities so it should be comfy enough for a wriggly baby. This time I used the Flax Light pattern by Tin Can Knits; a lightweight version of the Flax Pullover.

Pip has a few clothes with rainbows on so I made one for the front of her jumper; several rows of chain stitch on felt backing. In retrospect I wish I'd lined each colour up with the bottom of the purple stripe. It bugs me every time I look at the photo but she probably won't mind.
